TORDI

Our next destination was a little town called Tordi.
This is a very rural town with only one hotel in it. I believe it's not a touristy place but G takes us there and it's a nice break from all the very busy cities.
Tordi is on the country side and a couple of hours from Jaipur so this morning we got picked up on 4x4 jeeps and taken there.

On the way the jeeps got stopped while trying to cross a check point. People surrounded our jeep and they wouldn't let us go. Aura, our guide, had to "sweet talk" them and pay for them to let us through.

We finally arrived in tordi mid day.
Once at the hotel they greeted us by giving us a flower necklace and painted a third eye on us.

Tordi is a self made village with around 5,000 people in it and our hotel was a former palace 300 years ago.
The first thing to do in our list was have dinner at a one of the villagers house.
He had made a very nice meal consisting of Dahl, sujhi, and dumplings.
Plates made of leaves

After our lunch some of us went on a safari jeep and visited a local community in tordi.
I love seeing the way people live here in India!

These kids had been playing with Henna
After the village visit we made our way to the sand dunes where we watched the sunset while sipping on chai.
We saw a gazelle
After hours in the tour and sitting next to the guide I realized how good looking he was and used him as a model:

On our way down

At night we all got together on the rooftop and danced the night away
